Today is the start of the NFL season and that means big activity here on the blog. Will get to that in a bit though. First, let's start with the quick slants...
Fantasy Football drafted last night and I had to auto-draft both of my teams. Looking at them, they have some serious deficiancies but might not to bad. I can make them work.
The Infamous Beer Mile video is now online. It will come soon.
I created a Motown channel on Pandora.com and used it as my morning soundtrack. It was satisfying even if my co-workers thought I was listening to elevator music.
Gordon Ramsay's new show, Kitchen nightmares, starts tonight - I am excited. Review coming tomorrow.
One of Townhall's interns started a website about Sarah Palin back in like Feb of 2007. Now he is in some major media coverage - if fact, he is supposed to be on The Colbert Report tonight. Tune in.
Oklahoma City named their NBA tema the Thunder. What a stupid name.
Speaking of sandwiches, here's a regional breakdown of
some classic eats. I love me the sandwich in all forms.
Here are my NFL picks for the week (just skip over this if you aren't interested):
Giants over Washington
Detroit over Atlanta
Seattle over Buffalo
Jets over Miami
NE over KC
NO over TB
Philly over STL
Blitzburgh over Houston
Jax over Tenn
Cinci over Baltimore
SD over Carolina
AZ over SF
Dallas over Cleveland
Indy over Chciago
Minnesota over GB
Denver over Oak-town.
As for the aforementioned Beer Mile, essentially, what it is, is that you have to drink a beer, run a lap, drink a beer, run a lap, drink a beer, run a lap, drink a beer run a lap. It totals 4 beers and 1 mile running. A friend, let's call him Andy, made a bet that he could do it in under 10 minutes. He figured he could run a reasonable 7:30 mile, leaving him 2:30 to drink 4 beers. Nothing too bad. However, what happened is as follows: (aas you might expect, there is some bad language, but bear with us)
And, to sum it all up?
